AKKC was built to show Aalborg what the world has to offer, and to show the world what Aalborg has to offer. Each year, AKKC welcomes more than half a million visitors from near and far. However, many of them miss the opportunity to get a real sense of or knowledge about Aalborg and North Jutland during their stay. We are committed to changing that, and thanks to strong collaborations with some of North Jutland’s largest companies, we are proud to welcome you to our green scene.

Perhaps you know the feeling? You’re in a new city for a meeting or a conference. You experience the transport, the conference venue, and the hotel room, but often the schedule is so packed that there’s no time to explore and experience the city and the area you’re visiting.

AKKC hosts thousands of events each year, ranging from small meetings to large conferences of both national and international scale. Therefore, we become the base that most guests experience when they visit Aalborg. We see it as our responsibility to ensure that guests leave with useful knowledge about Aalborg and our region.

That’s why we have named our 40 meeting rooms after notable landmarks in Aalborg. It’s also why we have established the green scene, you are standing in front of right now. Here, we share North Jutland’s ambitious vision for green transformation in collaboration with Aalborg Portland, Port of Aalborg, Aalborg Forsyning, Aalborg University, and CO2Vision.

Here in AKKC, we have focused on sustainability for several years, and in 2017 we became the first in our industry to achieve the ISO 20121 certification for sustainable events. This means we have committed to continuously evolving in a more sustainable direction. Therefore, we are also proud to highlight the many important sustainability projects in North Jutland on our green scene.
