Lene Espersen

Lene Espersen, Chairperson of Green Hub Denmark, will kick off the event with this year’s opening speech at 9:00 AM.

In 2022, Lene Espersen also delivered the opening speech. She emphasized the importance of uniting in the green transition so that we can collectively find green collaboration opportunities across industries.

“Industry and sector coupling will be the solution to identifying, articulating, and realizing the business potential of the green transition, and it is crucial that we do not wait. We must start on a smaller scale where we can and not wait for the best technology to emerge,” says Lene Espersen.

Sebastian H. Mernild

The world-leading Danish climate researcher Sebastian Mernild will provide insights into the climate changes we have observed over time, as well as the changes we can expect to see in the coming decades.

“It is unequivocal that human influence has warmed the climate system and that widespread and rapid climate changes have occurred. The global surface temperature has increased by approximately 1.5°C since 1850, since the onset of industrialization. Each of the last four decades has been warmer than any previous decade since 1850. For every additional half degree of global warming, there will be increases in temperature extremes, the intensity of heavy rainfall, and severe drought,” says Sebastian Mernild.
